Avatars

Post by Michael Brown » Sun Dec 13, 2015 2:06 pm

In keeping with the new look I thought I would add one. My own cannot get down as small as 6Kb. Any advice as to what is best to use. ?

Thanks

Mike

For the images on the Board Index, I just used Photoshop, cropped the image down to a width of 100px and then saved 'for web and devices', making sure quality was medium rather than very high. If you have not got Photoshop, there is a free Open Source graphics package called 'Gimp'. I am sure it can do much the same.

:) For avatars, the maximum size is 90*90 pixels, but I will put the maximum size up to 7kb - 7168 bytes.

Thank you for that. i do have Photoshop but I think the problem arose when saving as I did not save for web use, too used to saving for images. I will try again.

Best wishes
