CHange of Data logger

Are there any advantages to swap my system form a Campbell Scientific CR10X to a Campbell Scientific CR1000? I have acquired one cheaply and I wonder if it will be worth all the work to swap over.

Campbell Scientific

Just wondering if anyone had a spare SC32B available please. i am in need of one to get a new system running and the costs of a new one are far to high for a pensioner. I already have two here but for some reason they will not work on any of the five computers I have or any of the dataloggers I have...

Re: Orange Sun

We have had the same experience here in Lancashire. The whole morning there has been a very odd and gloomy light until later in the morning when the sun began to peep through and was showing a distinct red hue apparently ( I am colour blind). A photograph from my daughter, Laoise, will help. Also a ...

WOW

I have been supply data to WOW almost since its launch, both automatically and manually. However, the last few months have proved very trying, mostly with an inability to log in to the site. My contacts with the 'Help" team have on the whole, been unsatisfactory, and currently I have been locked out...

Re: Wick for wetbulb mercury thermometer

Sorry for the late replay but I have been ill for some weeks. I make my own. Very simple. you need some cotton sheet, old handkerchiefs or similar, a bodkin and some handicraft or dishcloth cotton. Cut a piece of the cotton sheet around the size of a 50p piece. Thread the dishcloth cotton through th...

Re: Stainless Steel Hellmann Rain Gauge

My Hellman gauge is not stainless steel and I have not had any problems at all. It compares very well with the standard and Casella recoding gauge nearby. It is of course only used for recoding rain intensity and time on the trace. Have you thought of spraying it with waterproofing solution? It may ...

Re: A faulty sheathed max. thermometer

I have a mercury, sheathed max thermometer which has always read 0.6˚C higher than it should when compared to the 'normal' thermometer of the same pattern. there are no breaks or other problems with the column, it is just a bad reading. When compared to my electronic unit it gives the same problem t...

Re: Thermometers v AWS sensors

I too have both types in my screen. Standard Met Office sheather thermometers and my own design sensors connected to a Labjack unit. I have also found the same as Nicholas that the results are generally no more than 0.2 C degrees different, mostly 0.1 or nil difference. The only problem I ave found ...

Re: Uploading data onto websites

I use Weather Display myself, but Cumulus is just as good for your purposes and I believe is free. I run a PC alongside my macs to do this and it really is very easy in setup. I know Weather display almost does all the work for you.
