In the past fifteen minutes I've seen the first snowflakes of the winter falling here in West Kirby! (Or is it now officially spring?)
It looks like a small cold pool has drifted over us behind a kind of frontal trough, pulling the air temperature down from 5 deg C at 8am to less than 2.2 deg C now (at 0940 GMT)
Radar images show the precipitation band extending down across N Wales, implying snow will settle this morning on the higher Clwydian Hills!
