Very different here in Farnborough. Wall to wall sunshine today, though cold, with a max of 5.0C after an early frost, and now already down to -1C. A welcome change after damp weather with persistent mainly light rain on Sunday and Monday.

I work in Godalming (Surrey) and it was snowing heaviliy when I left at 5pm on Thursday. However, where I live in Farnborough, it was just a dusting. Enough for "snow lying" on Friday but it soon melted.

What a difference a year makes! I have already had more air frost days (1) this December than in December 2015 (0). In fact after 4 sunny days and consecutive min temps of -3.3C, -5.4C and -4.7C, the ground is frozen hard.
